Objective

1. Prevent sexual harassment and discrimination against women by encouraging gender equality among students and employees.
2. Make recommendations to Management for changes/elaboration of the Rules for Students in the Prospectus and the Bye-Laws in order to make them gender-just, and to establish procedures for the prohibition, resolution, settlement, and prosecution of acts of discrimination and sexual harassment against women.
3. Handle cases of discrimination and sexual harassment against women in a timely manner, with the goal of providing support services to the victims and ending the harassment

Responsibilities

1. The Committee will determine whether the facts contained in the complaint constitute "sexual harassment" under the Policy's definition
2. The Committee will investigate the veracity of the allegations in the complaint
3. The Committee shall investigate any allegation of retaliation or victimization of the complainant or any other person assisting her as a result of such complaint or assistance being offered
4. The Committee shall recommend to Management the penalties / actions to be taken against any person found guilty of sexually harassing the complainant, up to and including termination.
5. The Committee shall recommend penalties or actions to be taken against any person found guilty of retaliating against or victimizing the complainant or any other person assisting her as a result of such complaint being made or such assistance being offered
6. The Committee shall recommend to Management appropriate psychological, emotional, and physical support (counseling, security, and other assistance) for the victim.
7. Following receipt of the Committee's Report, the Committee shall monitor the Management's follow-up action.
