INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS(IPR)

IPR

Innovation is a continuous process of learning and an outcome of a good innovation may lead to a great invention. Once there is an invention that need to be protected properly for the use of the development of an individual, business empire and intern the Indian nation, an appropriate governing mechanism is to be established. Intellectual Property Rights IPR gained a paramount importance for protecting Inventions and a tool to leverage a Business. As a budding engineer of today who will be a prospective future innovator needs to be aware of the creation and protection of the intangible properties which will result in an Intellectual property. The new IPR policy of the Government of India recognizes the abundance of creative and innovative energies that flow in India, and the need to tap into and channelize these energies towards a better and brighter future for all.

With these ideas in mind, it is proposed to establish an Intellectual property Cell at St.Joseph College of Engineering (SJCE), which will coordinate for disseminating the knowledge of the IPR through organizing periodical seminars, workshops on IPR for the benefit of the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students of SJCE. The creation of an IPR Cell may give way for SJCE to stake a claim for the Government Chair on IPR like in other States / Universities in the country.
